Alfreton Cricket Club

Welcome to all our sponsors and supporters to our 2015 season.

We are incredibly reliant on the support of Impact Marketing and Publicity and Alfreton Town Council, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their continued support.

With our new facility fully operational from the first fixture we look forward to another exciting summer of cricket at all levels. We now have one of the best set ups in the league and I am very proud of how this reflects on the town as a whole. The Club has also received an award from the Derbyshire County League in recognition of its achievements through these major improvements. Furthermore, we have also been awarded the hosting of the Marston’s Smooth Cup Final in September, which will give us a further opportunity to showcase the ground and park.

Good luck to Alex and his team in Division One, as we again look for a swift return to the top flight.

The 2nd XI under Jon Clarke secured promotion to Division Four, a great achievement, his team will face some strong opposition this year, but I am sure we can consolidate our position in this division.

Matt Rooke is again taking control of the 3rd XI; he had some great youngsters making debuts last year, and did a great job securing our league position.

The Sunday XI under Tom Pawelski will again be playing some good fixtures, and I hope we can again continue to use their games for developing our young players, supported by first and second eleven players as lead examples.

Our Junior Section had another successful year and can I again thank the Town Council for their support of Youth Cricket on Alfreton, their contribution allows us to continually invest in equipment and coaching.

I hope you will continue to visit the games; I look forward to seeing you all, and let’s hope for a long hot summer.

Chris Slater, Chairman
