Alfreton Cricket Club

On behalf of Alfreton Cricket Club, welcome to the 2014 Season. What an exciting year we have in prospect. After only a two year wait we have returned to the Derbyshire Premier League. The League remains one of the strongest Premier divisions in the country, so we can look forward to seeing some highly competitive and quality Cricket this year. Please join me in wishing Alex and his team the best of luck.

I am truly overwhelmed with what the Club has achieved with its new facilities; it has been the culmination of four years’ work from a dedicated project team led by Steve Delamore, including Matt Spencer, Keith Clark and Tom Rooke. These new facilities will secure the Clubs future, and be a major contribution to our sustainability, as a top level Cricket Club, but also through greatly enhanced links with the local Community, and non- sport organisations in the area, who have already expressed great interest in the Community room element of the development.

We have a new young team of people who are running all elements of Cricket at the Club, I wish them well for the future, and thank them on behalf of the Committee for taking this upon themselves.

As ever we remain a Club with a strong Junior Section as demonstrated by our outstanding success last year, I am therefore delighted that John Aspinall,  an extremely competent player and coach will be taking over the management and organisation of our Junior Cricket this year. The Club are both fortunate and grateful to John for this, and we all wish him well on his endeavours.

In closing can I thank Impact Marketing and Alfreton Town Council for their continued support, without which the Club would not be where we are.
