Alfreton Cricket Club

Welcome to our 2016 season.

Let’s as always hope for a long hot summer!

We have made significant changes during the closed season both on and off the field, with the recruitment of new players and the welcome return of some previous friends and players. We have made significant changes to the Club structure both on and off the field, with new people in office on the main committee and new people in charge of Cricket. The biggest plus for me is these are all new young blood, with some great ideas on how we drive the club forward. This has been demonstrated through their enthusiasm, efforts and success’ already during the winter period. Many thanks to all concerned.

I would like to say a really warm welcome to our new Shirt and Ground Sponsor Asha Healthcare, this is a real boost for us, and I hope they enjoy and benefit from our partnership.

To Alfreton Town Council, who continue to support our Junior Cricket section a huge thanks. We are looking very good numbers and talent wise again this season, and the winter nets have shown some real positives again from our Juniors.

Good luck to Jake Simpson in his first year as 1st XI Captain. We all wish him well in what will be a good season of real competitive Cricket. Jake has already demonstrated an increasing maturity and desire, to get involved with all aspects of the Clubs undertakings. Welcome John Aspinall to the role of Head of Cricket. It’s certainly been a closed season of activity through all the work and effort John has already bought to the role.

Further best wishes in their endeavours to Jon Clarke and Matt Rooke in their continued roles as 2nd & 3rd XI Captains. Again these guys continue to develop in these roles both on and off the pitch.

In closing, thank you for taking a look at our website, it’s been a pleasure during the closed season to see so many new faces from the Town using our new facility, we hope to see you all again through the summer at a game or two, and hopefully with a drink to match!
