Alfreton Cricket Club

Welcome to our 2017 season.

Let’s as always hope for a long hot summer!

We have been busy during the closed season both on and off the field, with the recruitment of new players and the welcome return of some previous friends and players. The biggest plus for me is these are all new young blood, with some great ideas on how we drive the club forward. This has been demonstrated through their enthusiasm, efforts and success’ already during the winter period. Many thanks to all concerned.

I am please to say we have continued support with our Shirt and Ground Sponsor Asha Healthcare, this is a real boost for us, and I am glad our  partnership is continuing.

To Alfreton Town Council, who continue to support our Junior Cricket section a huge thanks. We are looking very good numbers and talent wise again this season, and the winter nets have shown some real positives again from our Juniors.

Good luck to Jake Simpson returning as 1st XI Captain. We all wish him well in what will be a good season of real competitive Cricket. John Aspinall will stay on as the Head of Cricket. It’s certainly been a closed season of activity through all the work and effort John has already bought to the role.

Best wishes to Owen Commins as the new 2nd XI captain and to Ian Danby 3rd XI captain. Both stepping up and taking on the challenge this year, here's to a successful season for both teams.

In closing, thank you for taking a look at our website, it’s been a pleasure during the closed season to see so many new faces from the Town using our new facility, we hope to see you all again through the summer at a game or two, and hopefully with a drink to match!
